Follicle-stimulating hormone
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. It regulates the functions of both the ovaries and testes. Lack or insufficiency of it can cause infertility or subfertility in both women and men. In pharmaceutical preparation, it is called follitropin.
There are two types of preparation, either by human source (menopausal women’s urine) or by recombinant DNA origin (produced in genetically engineered Chinese hamster cell lines). Menopausal women’s urine contains higher content of gonadotropins hormones (FSH and LH – Luteinizing hormone). High technology purification and extraction processes has enabled the production of highly purified gonadotropins. The process includes eliminating every form of impurity and non-conforming molecules, leaving behind pure forms of FSH that can be injected subcutaneously or intra-muscularly.
FSH is one of the hormones essential to pubertal development and the function of women’s ovaries and men’s testes. In women, this hormone stimulates the growth of ovarian follicles in the ovary before the release of an egg from one follicle at ovulation. In men, FSH acts on the Sertoli cells of the testes to stimulate sperm production.
Follitropin (pharmaceutical preparation) is used in Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation (COS), a technique used in assisted reproduction to induce ovulation of multiple ovarian follicles. These multiple follicles can be taken out by egg collection for use in In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
Human Menopausal Gonadotropin
Human Menopausal Gonadotropin (hMG), also known as Menotropin, is a pharmaceutical preparation containing Follicle Stimulating hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing hormone (LH) activity. hMG is commercially available at FSH:LH ratio of 1:1.
LH is a hormone produced in the pituitary gland. In female, LH activity acts synergistically with follicle-stimulating hormones (FSH) to promote the growth of the follicle in the normal menstrual cycle. Another role it plays, is to trigger the mature egg to ovulate with an acute rise of LH (LH surge) in the body. In males, it stimulates production of testosterone in Leydig cells.
Foliculin
FOLICULIN contains highly purified follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) extracted from human source. Follicle stimulating hormone is a hormonal treatment commonly used in assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

FOLICULIN (Urofollitropin) is indicated in subfertile females.It is commonly used in treatments for sub-fertile women. Urofollitropin is commonly used in treatments to stimulate the production of follicles (oogenesis) and promotion of endometrial proliferation.

HuMoG
HuMoG contains human menopausal gonadotropins (hMG). Human menopausal gonadotropins (hMG) are commonly used in assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs) and in vitro fertilization (IVF). It contains a combination of the Luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating hormone (FSH).

HuCoG
HuCoG contains human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is commonly used in assistive reproductive techniques (ARTs) and in vitro fertilisation (IVF). hCG is usually used in lieu/as an analogue of Luteinizing hormone (LH) to stimulate and promote follicle maturation.
hCG works by stimulating ovulation, maintaining the corpus luteum and to promote endometrial thickening through progesterone stimulation in women. In men, it works by stimulating testosterone secretion by the Leydig cells of the testicles to increase spermatogenesis.

Asprorelix
Asporelix is a gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist. It competes with the endogenous GnRH hormones for binding to receptors on pituitary cells and thus control the release of LH and FSH in a dose-dependent manner.
Available dosage:
Each vial contains 0.25 mg cetrorelix (as acetate).
Prevention of premature ovulation in patients undergoing a controlled ovarian stimulation, followed by oocyte pick-up and assisted reproductive techniques.
This product is to be used under prescription from healthcare professionals
The contents of 1 vial (0.25 mg cetrorelix) are to be administered once daily, at 24 h intervals, either in the morning or evening.
1. Asporelix should only be reconstituted with the diluent provided (Sterile water for injection I.P.) with the pack.
2. Aseptically withdraw the entire content of the diluent into a syringe. Push the needle through the center of the rubber stopper of the appropriate Asprorelix (Cetrorelix Acetate For injection) vial and slowly inject the diluent into the vial.
3. Leaving the syringe in the vial, gently swirl the vial until the solution is clear and without residues. Vigorous shaking with bubble formation should be avoided.
4. Draw the total contents of the vial into the syringe. If necessary, invert the vial and pull back the needle as far as needed to withdraw the entire contents at the vial. This ensures a delivery in the patient of a dose of at least 0.23mg cetrorelix.
5. Do not use if the solution contains particles or if the solution is not clear.
6. The solution should be used immediately after reconstitution.
7. The site of injection: preferably the abdomen should be varied daily when being used in the multiple-dose regimen
